Day 8 - Laptop

I am a computer type of gal...well sort of! Who would have thought that. I also love, love, love having the internet at my fingertips. Literally, I have it on my phone, we have wi-fi in our house allowing me to take my laptop with me anywhere and be connected. I do love it and when I am somewhere I cannot/do not have this easy access I can get/be a bit c.r.a.n.k.y. This is the case when we travel and when we visit family. Crazy I know but it's true.

My laptop with me in bed on a recent lazy morning :)

Being in MO with family is killer as there is NO internet at my parents. We have a few wi-fi options but you have to "drive to town" so to speak, thank goodness for Mickey D's, and Hardee's! LOL Anyway, I enjoy internet, what did we do before that? I remember when we first got internet. We really didn't Twin #2 did. He was living with us at the time and he wanted to get it and see what it was all about. I really didn't think it was all that great. It wasn't until we moved to COS that I fully got the whole internet thing. I loved it, I used it and I truly cannot imagine life without it. We were dial up f.o.r.e.v.e.r. In fact it wasn't until we lived in Italy that we had the high-speed stuff! Then when we came back to the states we stuck with that. It's amazing stuff.

If I were getting to be really extravagant and all I would be sportin' an Apple iPad...but since I'm not I am happy to use my trusty little ole HP, she's working fine. Now that's not to say that I won't upgrade someday, but for now I'm good with what I got!

Hmmm, guess this is more about internet then laptop but it's really my laptop that I use the internet on the most so it works. I have no idea the statistics but in my world most ordinary people I know have internet. Most people I know even have it on their phone. I know we are not feeling like it is truly a necessity but I certainly feel that I would choose to have it over something else. Like for us we like internet better then cable, therefore, we do not have cable we have internet. It's  choices...most of life is! That's definitely a look at my ordinary life!

Whoa!!! What a Weekend!

Wow, having company is ALWAYS fun, but when they bring Sprinkles it's the bomb! There were black and whites, salted caramel, dark chocolate and lemon coconut! HEAVEN is what it was. We enjoyed them that night, the next morning with coffee, the next evening with the Munsy Neighbors and then the next morning again. Yummmmmm and we aren't even going to talk about the ramifications, just let it go! I'm sooo trying, but I am having a bit of a time with it. I soooo don't like my jeans fitting tight, it's just me I know, but it's how I feel and I don't like it. Moving on...cause I am not making the hard choice to really change it, so, I am where I am and it is what it is, pftttt!

We did the movies on Saturday, twice. We also went to dinner at the Mongolian BBQ place, (after the second movie) which was not all that good, but the company was so that's how that goes! The movie was good, but the restaurant was not, just wanted to clear that up... We will keep looking for good places to eat that's all I can say! I was disappointed in the cleanliness of the place and service was mediocre, though she did have a lot of personality! Ahhhhh, but the company was awesome and we continued the visiting party back at the house with more cupcake eating and maybe a little Bailey's and Kahlua.

Also enjoyed a nice slow day with PJs on for a good portion of it, then out to enjoy the beeee.U.TE.ful weather and do a bit of computer repair. That was a BIG fun project and it is actually still in progress but hopefully be wrapped up today, cause the main computer tech is departing today! A bad fan needed to be switched out.

My personal GEEK Squad!

It's been a great weekend! This week also finds us traveling, it will be a quick trip before we return to move right next door. Then it will be getting settled in and starting off the month of March, which will bring much traveling and lots of visiting. I'm excited!

Hope you had a great weekend, if you are fortunate to have the day off, enjoy, we certainly are! We will also continue the creative meals and using up what's on hand so we don't have to move it next door food plan! So far, so good, yesterday I made an awesome breakfast casserole using all the frozen hash browns, many of the veggies, most of the cheese and all but one of the eggs!

Thursday Thoughts!

Well, I'm not as swift as I thought I was...surprise, surprise!!! The cord I ordered for my laptop to be back in business is a total match EXCEPT the "connector end" Yeah, who knew there were sooooo many sizes and I had no idea I got the wrong one until after it shipped, so I will hopefully be able to return it due to IE (idiot error). I THINK I have found the correct one now, but I am going to wait and let someone smarter then me make sure.  So I am still out of commission. Oh well, such is life. I am able to "borrow" time on family members computers. Guess I shall live!!!

A picture of the &#%@ end plug that I failed to realize makes a huge difference when ordering a new power supply until I had ALREADY ordered one and it is the WRONG one...oy vey!

Short and Sweet thoughts today!
  • I am so ready for good summer produce!!
  • I have a love/hate relationship with technology
  • TWELVE-only 12 more days = MiB back in USA!!
Have a fantabulous day, make the most of whatcha got and catch ya when I can :)

New Headset

Today, I did several things but the most important was to find a headset, mic set for the man in blue. I was successful and will get it in the mail tomorrow, but you can see it for yourself with the photo Lil Blue took. She insisted I hold a soda in the pic??? And as you can see, she wants it known they are BLUE, however, they could have been black, orange or red, however, she felt BLUE was the best choice! I was very busy today and will have more pictures tomorrow of some things I started today and hope to finish tomorrow. Things always seem to be a process for me and this project I am working on is no different.

In other thoughts for our dinner tonight, we had penne pasta with garden red sauce, not homemade but good nonetheless. Lil Blue had corn and I had hominy and we both enjoyed garlic toast with our meal. We could have had salad but didn't maybe I will have that tomorrow for lunch.

That's about it for today which is quickly coming to a close, which I am ready for, I don't know why but I am really tired this evening, so hopefully, when I do actually get to the bed sleep will come quickly and easily. I have been working on mySherry's photo albums from when she visited us in Italy. She needed help with identifying some of the things we did so I worked on that again tonight and hopefully will finish it tomorrow.
