Thursday Thoughts...

WOW...
  • I am glad to be in FLORIDA!
  • It is good to be in my own home again.
  • Seeing old friends always makes time fly!
  • I am thrilled to be sleeping in my own bed!
  • The weather in Florida is not always sunny...

It has been several days, internet was just not all that readily available and neither was time...we are now altogether in Florida and settling in. The house is h u g e! I am having a hard time getting everything in it's place, but it is slowing coming together, I feel the need to go shopping soon! It is sooooo good to be in our new home!

TODAY is THE day...

We will be reunited with MiB this day!!! yeah!!! I am so glad this day is finally here and we will be a family again. Though we still have several days of transistion and travel before we are under our own roof we will be together and that is what I am so thrilled for.

I am finishing the last of the sorting and cleaning and also going over the graduation celebration plans and getting the details taken care of for our incoming guests and that is helping the day to go by but since the arrival is late in the evening I feel like the day is dragging. Oh well, I am still being productive.

The next few days will be a blur but I am going to try and keep the updates rolling in especially with the graduation.

Honor's Night

Last night was Honor's Night at LilBlue's school and she was pleasantly surprised to be the recipient of three community scholarships! When the first one was announced she just about knocked the guy sitting next to us down and I was so dumbfounded I didn't have the camera ready and missed the whole thing. The first one was the Mid-City Bank expense scholarship.

The next one she received was from the school's athletic booster club.

Mrs. B announcing the Athletic Booster Club scholarships, three were given out this year.

With Mrs B after the awards program.

With her principal Mr. Rohlf's and her certificate showing all the scholarships she has been awarded to date. In addition to the two announced last night she was awarded the local Delta Kappa Gamma scholarship and the Freshman Merit Scholarship for her college of choice next year.
There are still some scholarships out there that have not been awarded and we are still hopeful she might pull in a few more, college is expensive so we are thrilled with what she has won so far! Way to go LilBlue!!!!

Senior Sunday & Grad Party

Yesterday at church they recognized all the Seniors graduating this year, they also played a slideshow of baby pictures, it was ridiculously cute and very nostalgic! Pastor Josh also gave them some words of wisdom and encouraged them NOT to be a statistic, which is that 70% of church kids drop church from their life when they go to college...
On stage listening to Josh.
Senior Sunday
Then later in the afternoon we celebrated the Bud's upcoming graduation. We had yummy pizza and most importantly CAKE! It was white/chocolate marble and quite tasty. There were some pretty nifty gifts in the mix as well for the college bound boy!

Trust me, he was happier then he looked!!!

The quite yummy cake!

Senior Recognition

At the Track Meet this past week, they took a break and recognized the graduating Seniors, it was nice and each one had a special memory or two they shared...LilBlue's was "Big Macs and Band-aids" I know the Big Mac story. On the USD trip she devoured one in three bites; her coach couldn't believe it since she is on the thin, petite side, so the next time they stopped at a McDonald's she demonstrated for him. She has never lived it down and continues to eat them in three bites when told "there's no way" you can't do that.

On the field, and they had just shared that her track memories include Big Macs and Band-aids!
