Honor's Night
Last night was Honor's Night at LilBlue's school and she was pleasantly surprised to be the recipient of three community scholarships! When the first one was announced she just about knocked the guy sitting next to us down and I was so dumbfounded I didn't have the camera ready and missed the whole thing. The first one was the Mid-City Bank expense scholarship.
The next one she received was from the school's athletic booster club.
With Mrs B after the awards program.
With her principal Mr. Rohlf's and her certificate showing all the scholarships she has been awarded to date. In addition to the two announced last night she was awarded the local Delta Kappa Gamma scholarship and the Freshman Merit Scholarship for her college of choice next year.
The next one she received was from the school's athletic booster club.
There are still some scholarships out there that have not been awarded and we are still hopeful she might pull in a few more, college is expensive so we are thrilled with what she has won so far! Way to go LilBlue!!!!

Senior Sunday & Grad Party
Yesterday at church they recognized all the Seniors graduating this year, they also played a slideshow of baby pictures, it was ridiculously cute and very nostalgic! Pastor Josh also gave them some words of wisdom and encouraged them NOT to be a statistic, which is that 70% of church kids drop church from their life when they go to college...
Then later in the afternoon we celebrated the Bud's upcoming graduation. We had yummy pizza and most importantly CAKE! It was white/chocolate marble and quite tasty. There were some pretty nifty gifts in the mix as well for the college bound boy!

Senior Recognition
At the Track Meet this past week, they took a break and recognized the graduating Seniors, it was nice and each one had a special memory or two they shared...LilBlue's was "Big Macs and Band-aids" I know the Big Mac story. On the USD trip she devoured one in three bites; her coach couldn't believe it since she is on the thin, petite side, so the next time they stopped at a McDonald's she demonstrated for him. She has never lived it down and continues to eat them in three bites when told "there's no way" you can't do that.
On the field, and they had just shared that her track memories include Big Macs and Band-aids!

Thursday Already!!
OH MY, it's been a whirwind week, I am so glad it is over...the house is SOLD, the deal is complete and we are no longer homeowners. I was ever soooooo relieved when the phone call came in on Monday evening around 5:45 p.m. that everything was signed and sealed with an offer to deliver the paperwork, but I said I would just pop in their office on Tuesday to pick it all up rather then them deliver, I was on my way to my lifegroup meeting anyhow.
So Thursday Thoughts...
So Thursday Thoughts...
- Uber excited, family is coming to visit until Tuesday!
- I had a lean cuisine pizza for supper and it was yummy!
- I hope not having a life doesn't get boring, so far, so good.
- I have been cropping to my heart's content the last two days.
- The temp quarters are becoming more homey to us every day.
Off to help LilBlue finish that pesky senior paper that is due tomorrow...I will be glad when that is done, but I have learned a lot about the poet, Percy Shelley, mainly that he was a liberal nut case who traveled around a lot and cheated on his wife. Who knew?

Senior Pictures
Well, this is just a teaser...it was a very good day for photography! The weather held together for us with just a few rain drops near the end, but we've never been afraid of a little rain so we just pressed on and got a few more shots in the grass laying down, can't wait to see those! Lil'Blue really liked the photog (and with a teenager, you know that is half the battle) So if you are in the Omaha area and need photography services we recommend checking out Andrea, she did a great job for us! I hope it's okay with Andrea that we posted the picture...if not we will take it down, but I made Lil'Blue put her name on it so you all would know who took it and I am linking her site...again, she did a great job!!!

There is so much more to write about right now but I am going to save it for another day when my thoughts and emotions are not on a rollar coaster; suffice to say that change is in the air...

Work Stoppage...
Well, the day did not go as planned...so there is not a finished project to post pictures of...maybe tomorrow.
As far as my day not going as planned, it wasn't a bad thing, just not as planned thing. I got a late start due to chatting with man in blue-then I found out I needed to pick up Lil'Blue from school. This caused me to delay doing my errands to coincide with being out to pick her up so I didn't have time to get the project completed before I needed to pick her up so therefore I just didn't start it. And besides that I found I needed to pick up some additional supplies so it all worked out in the end.
On a Lil'Blue school note Mrs. C ask her to fill out an application for the Treasurer position in NHS. So we worked on that over Sonic Happy Hour drinks. We also pulled pictures for her senior dedication page, that was fun, when she doesn't have so much homework in the next few days she is going to scan them for me so I can submit them to Mrs. B. It was fun to look back at the photos! We got lots of laughs out of doing that!
AWANA meeting tonight lasted waaaaaay longer then I had anticipated, like I didn't get home until 9:00 p.m. I got to go through all our bins and purge and make a supply list, it was good cause I did it all by myself and I know it's done. Then I had the pleasure of "helping" do chapters 7-9 on the Dracula study guide with LB when I returned home over small bowls of ice cream. Now it is off to bed!

Curriculum Night
Tonight was meet the teacher night...it was also the night we do our PTSA membership sign ups..we got lots of memberships so it was good, I will crunch the numbers tomorrow but I think we had at least 75...we'll see.
Met all the teachers, two we have had before, the others are all new for us...I think it will be a good year, I HOPE it will be a great year.
It was good to see everyone, teachers we have had before and parents we have met in our last three years, nice that faces are so familiar.
Going to watch some Olympics and then on to bed, it's been a good day.

First Day of School
Little Blue started back to school today...her last year, she's a SENIOR...wow, how did that happen? She has just grown up overnight it seems. I think she had a pretty good day, it seemed that way, a wanted schedule change was worked out without any problems, so that was a relief!
She was in good spirits when she got home, though I think she is tired from such an early morning, she is NOT used to that! Maybe she will go to bed early tonight??
