Thursday Thoughts!

What a week, I am thrilled and frustrated all in the same breath with parenting...yeah, I know I was 19 once too, enough said.

It's still been warm in these parts, I am hoping for a cool down as the house washing project gets accomplished, which is a big job that just keeps getting bigger! What have I gotten my self into????

I have a lot of thoughts this week but I am going to keep most of them in my brain...

Thursday Thoughts!
  • The 7#s are gone :)
  • Watermelon season is nearly gone : (
  • BUSY is a four letter word...
  • I'm so very thankful for my second sisters!
  • Making huge progress with my scrap booking projects!
Happy Thursday to YOU!

New Runners!!!

Okay, they are new running shoes, but let's face it since it has been so hot I have been doing more walking then running...nevertheless I needed some new shoes, so while I was in the big O I went to my favorite running store and procured a new pair! They are my favorite brand but this time since I am doing way less running I did not go with the wave creation I went with the wave rider. It will serve me just fine for the walking I am doing much more then running. I like the color this year as blue is one of my favs!

I did use them the past two days and they are not as cushoiny as my creations but they work good, I even ran a little in them, they work well for that too.

MiB also got new running shoes and I sent him some new inserts and while we are not running together, we really never have as he is on a whole different level then I, I always think about him while I am running or walking and pray for him, his day, his leadership, his Airmen, her everything. I also pray for my family, friends and all that is on my mind. I am most often a solo walker/runner and it provides me with a great opportunity to pray.

Enough from me, I'm rambling, just wanted to show off my new runners :)

She's back at it...

Today is the first day of Lil Blue's second year of college...I know, I cannot believe it either! I am just thrilled she is hanging in there, I know it's not really where she may want to be right now but it is a good decision to stick with continuing her education!

I spent the last few days in the big O getting her settled into her new place at the university. She has her own room this year but still shares a bathroom. Then she shares a little kitchen living room area with all of her roomies, there are four of them total. I think/hope/pray it is a great year for her!

One of the many loads she hauled in!

With Aunt Turtle on a Wally World run for some necessities!

Let me also note that it was a nice HOT time while there, we were able to hit a couple scrapbook places and we managed a trip to Khan's as well so it really was not just a working trip, we played too!

Thanks Aunt Turtle for being my travel companion this trip!!!!

For the birds!!!!

It has been a treat watching the hummingbird feeder as of late! It’s been so hot that it has made the feeder a very popular spot in the neighborhood! We have had as many as five trying to feed. They chase and play and dart this way and that they are so fun to watch. I was finally able to catch a few snap shots of them yesterday and this morning. I love to sit on the porch and just watch them, what utterly amazing little things they are!!!

Hope you are taking time to enjoy the beautiful things in your world! I think I am doing a better job at this with at this point in my world!

Thursday Thoughts!

It’s been soooo hot however there has been a cool front in our area the last few days and it’s only been in the 90s! That is a nice break believe it or not…and we have had some rain, which has been awesome cause you know what rain makes? Yeah, corn and corn makes, uh, no, I meant it makes the grass grow! LOL

So anyway, time is flying by I cannot even believe we are into the latter part of August already. Lil Blue goes to back to school on Monday! I’m heading to NE this weekend to make sure she is settled in her new dorm room and just spend a few days with her before she starts the school year! Should be fun!

Thoughts for today:

  • Doing nothing takes a lot of time!
  • I’m rockin’ the croppin!
  • L O V E the seedless watermelons we are having!

  • Have made progress on those 7#s! YEAH ME : )

As the littles saw, afterwhile crocodile! That's it from me and my free McD's internet connection!

It's HOT...

I am not a fan of the weather as of late...I am melting in the Midwest in all this heat. I am going to be here for several more weeks so I might as well get used to it, as August is traditionally THE hottest month but I am not enjoying it at all and I really thought you know how I feel about this :P

That's all, goodbye and try to stay cool wherever you are!

Thursday Thoughts!

I am in my state's capitol this week for a few days...it is a nice little city and they have nearly everything most of the bigger cities have. You also pass through a great little town with an outlet mall. I have scored a few bargains this trip so I am pretty happy!

On our way home we are stopping at Whiteman and going through the 'Burg! What fun and a bunch of memories we will have.

Thursday Thoughts:
  • I miss my MiB, 'nuf said!
  • I will always say yes to pizza :)
  • Papa Smurf's 'mators are awesome!!
  • I think I could do OKC in retirement...
Short and sweet today! Enjoy whatever you are doing, wherever you are! I am : )

+3800 miles later...

I left FL on 15 June 2010 for destinations still to be determined...after traveling in, through and to AL, MS, TN, AR, MO, IA, NE, KS, OK and TX, and logging just over 3800 miles I think I am off to a good start with this vagabond lifestyle and my year as a nomad is agreeing with me.

I am doing fine with all the driving, which is a real answer to prayer since I am not the lover of driving type, thankyouverymuch, I would rather be the navigator! By far Birmingham, AL was the worst city I have had to drive through, and I love AL so this is just my honest opinion and experience speaking here. Really enjoyed the easy drive to Austin, TX, it was a piece of cake. However, I will add that I am ready, willing and able for MiB to be back in the driver's seat as soon as that time comes :)

Since I am back in the sticks again for a time, posts may be fewer; but know that I am soaking up hugs and kisses from "the littles" who have missed me, hanging with my family, getting a few of Papa Smurf's household chores done, scrapbooking and in general enjoying life!

Until I am connected again!

Today...

It was HOT, I mean really, really, really HOT in OKC today. I mean hot as in 104* sooooo we went to Bricktown to the movie theater. Since we were a bit early we took in the new Chesapeake Boathouse. Talk about a pretty cool thing to see and oh my the plans they have for that place are just incredible, I mean super duper incredible. I am planning to be back in OKC this fall and I hope it coincides with the Regatta they have planned!

This is SEATTLE she is one of the rowers for OCU, she was just hanging out at the boathouse and gave us a personal tour!

SALT the movie

It was a good movie and MiB would have totally loved it. If you like action/adventure you will like it, if you enjoy spy stuff along with action/adventure you will really love it...so I enjoyed it w/o a doubt! I think the rest of the movie goers enjoyed it as well!

After grilling out steaks for dinner we are just chillaxin for the evening since we are heading back to MO tomorrow a.m.
